At Bright Beginnings we offer the full care from Babies through to AfterSchool. We create a safe and colourful environment for all various stages of child development.
The Baby Room
Ages 0 - 18 months
Our Babies are cared for by 3 full-time experienced and qualified Nursery Nurses. We regularly take the babies out for walks and also make use of the playground and grassed area for outdoor play. We strive to encourage all aspects of each child's development and are relevant to the age and stage your child is at.
Continuity of the child's home routine is vital to creating a sense of security and stability. We work very closely with parents regarding this. A daily diary outlining each child's day is completed and sent home to provide information on duration of sleeps, quantities of food/milk consumed etc.
The Toddler Room
Ages 18 months - 3 years
Weekly play programmes ensure the children are provided with a wealth of learning experiences. Messy play is always an enjoyable experience for our toddlers - best clothes not advised!!
The toddlers learn new colours and shapes every month and have great fun creating crafts and pictures relating to their monthly theme. We also teach our toddlers to wash their faces and brush their teeth after lunch. With so many things to do, our toddlers are glad when nap time comes along so they can have a rest after all their hard work!
The PreSchool Room
Ages 3 - 5 years
The Pre-School Room is where your child learns the skills they will need for formal education.
We build on the skills and knowledge acquired in the Toddler Room and provide structured learning through play activities. Again we work to weekly play programmes to ensure a wide field of learning. The children add to their knowledge of shapes and colours and learn pencil control skills. We encourage periods of structured play to build concentration and periods of free play to help them build their imagination and social skills.
We have a messy room for arts and crafts, sand and water play, cookery activities and much more! We also have a creative room for songs, rhymes and storytelling and role play activities. We also go on many outings and seasonal walks to explore nature and the environment.
This is a very exciting age - there are so many things that the pre-school child wants to see, hear and experience, its hard to fit them all it. Our pre-schoolers go home each evening tired but grinning from ear to ear!
The After School Club
Primary 1 - 7 (Opening Hours Breakfast Club 7.30 - 9am & 2pm to 5.55pm)
It is offsite from the main Nursery as we have found that older kids prefer to attend a "Club" rather than a "Babies' Nursery!" We are registered for 26 children who attend local schools. A collection service is available from certain schools.
We offer the children a place to relax and have fun after a hard day at school. A substantial break is offered to the children on arrival at the after-school club. Each child is allocated 15 minutes of individual supervised study time to complete homework. The children also have group study time where they can share advice and experience. There is a choice of games and activities on offer for the children and they have the freedom to decide what they most feel like doing at any particular time. We make full use of the playground for organised games and free play.
The Summer Scheme
July & August
We offer full-time care during all the main school holiday periods. A comprehensive activity schedule is planned so that the children have plenty to occupy their time. During the summer holidays we run a summer scheme which is jam-packed full of fun activities, outings and special theme weeks. This is open to children from P1 to P7 and generally runs from the beginning of July to the end of August. It is the perfect place for you child to enjoy their summer holidays.
